Kittens for Adoption
Kittens available for adoption are instore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am and 2pm.
Viewing in New Plymouth available Monday, Wednesday and Saturday by appointment.
If you are adopting - please allow plenty of time to properly meet the kittens available and complete the adoption process. You will need a cat carry cage to transport your new kitten home, alternatively we do have transport boxes available for sale.
Animals and hot cars DO NOT MIX. Supplies of food and litter should be sought before you come in or after you settle your kitten at home.

Lost & Found
Lost a Pet?
- Thoroughly search your property – check under the house, garage and small sheds.
- Ask your neighbours to check their sheds & garages in case your pet has been accidentally locked inside.
- Get on foot in the neighbourhood and call your pet – they know your voice which will be very reassuring to them if they are injured & unable to get home.
- Put flyers in letterboxes around your neighbourhood. Include a description and your contact details.
- Place a free advert on the national website www.lostpet.co.nz Also search the “found pets” section of their website.
- Contact local radio stations and ask them to list your lost pet on their petline - The Hits ph 06 759 2460, More FM ph 0800 MORE 932.
- Contact local vet clinics in case your pet has been found injured.
- Check the Lost & Found listings in the newspaper.
- Place an advertisement in the newspaper - Taranaki Daily News ph 06 759 0808, Stratford Press ph 06 765 5471, South Taranaki Star ph 06 278 0630
- Contact the New Plymouth SPCA ph 06 758 2053 and Hawera SPCA ph 06 278 5605 in case your pet has been taken to either location.
- Contact your local council to report your lost dog – New Plymouth ph 06 759 6060, Stratford ph 06 765 6099, Hawera ph 0800 111 323.
- If your pet is microchipped & registered on the NZ Companion Animal Register, contact them on 0800 LOST PET to register them as missing.
- Use social media – there are many lost & found pet pages on Facebook – NZLostPets, Taranaki Lost and Found Pets, and Lost & Found Pets in Taranaki just to name a few.
Found a Pet?
- Have the animal scanned for a microchip at your nearest vet clinic / animal rescue or SPCA.
- If the animal appears injured or unwell, take it to the nearest vet so that it gets necessary medical attention.
- Put flyers in letterboxes in the area it was found. Include a description and your contact details.
- Place a free advert on the national website www.lostpet.co.nz Also search the “lost pets” section of their website.

- If you are unable to look after the animal until the owner is found, contact your nearest animal shelter. Animal shelters are bursting at the seams during ‘kitten season’ (approx November through to April), so contact them by phone first to see if they can accommodate.
- If accommodation at an animal shelter is not available, ask family or friends for their help until the owner is found or accommodation becomes available at the shelter.
